Thanks to the kindness of the Household Cavalry and the efforts
of our instructor Janet Barnard-Brown, the Club has been able to
use the Cavalry horses for dressage lessons since September
2003. We are the only riding club to enjoy this privilege
weekly!
Lessons are only available for intermediate to advanced riders
as the Cavalry horses are not suitable for beginner and novice
riders. You also need to be a confident and bold rider as we
cannot choose which horses we are allocated and they vary from
week to week. For safety reasons we have to be confident
of members’ ability, so before you can ride here you will need
to be graded. We would also advise you to come and watch a
lesson first. If you wish to arrange any of this or would
like further information please email the
club.
Lessons are on Tuesdays at 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm at a price of
£27.50 per hour. These are group lessons with a maximum of
5 horses.
Directions: Hyde Park, Knightsbridge, London SW7 1SE,
Knightsbridge tube station, Piccadilly Line (using the Harvey
Nichols’ exit) or the 52 bus from Victoria stops at Scotch
Corner, almost outside the Barracks. Street parking is
available, but difficult.
