ABOUT US

The CSRC was founded in 1937, and is one of the oldest riding clubs in the country. We organise high-quality, often discounted, riding opportunities in and around London as well as horse-related and social activities for our members. Certain activities, such as riding at the Barracks, are only available to CSRC members.

We are currently functioning as a saddle club and do not have our own horses. We are affiliated with the Civil Service Sports Council (CSSC). Our members consist of civil servants, mainly based in London and working for various Government departments. This means that we are mostly a London-based club, however, club members occasionally arrange activities elsewhere.  If you would like to arrange a club activity in your local area please get in touch!

Some history

The club was based in De Vere Mews Kensington until 1974 when the stables were sold for redevelopment. At the time the Club nearly closed but Her Majesty the Queen generously agreed to let us stable our horses in the Royal Mews until the end of 2003. The Club has now sold its horses and continues as a saddle club.
